I have tried my fair share of baby carriers.  This is the first time I have tried a Mei Tei styled carrier, though and I have to say that I am impressed with it!

A mei tei carrier is sort of a mix between a buckled structured carrier and a wrap.  It is secured by tying off loose ends.  There is a waist band that is wrapped around the waist that you need to knot.  After the carrier is tied around your waist, you put baby on your chest or back, depending on if you’re doing a front or back carry, pull up the panel to cover baby’s back, then pull the straps from the top of the panel and for a front carry, you would pull those straps over your shoulders and cross them to make an ‘X’ on your back and then take each remaining strap and pull them around front to go under baby’s legs and you can tie off there, or wrap them around to the back and tie off in the back, depending on how long the remainder of the straps are.  It really is rather simple and easy to do on your own.

This Cozitot mei tei carrier is 100% cotton and really, really soft.  It has padded straps and also the top part of the panel is padded where baby would rest their head and/or neck.  I have found that the carrier is really comfortable for both baby and parent.  My husband has also tried it and he found it very comfortable as well.  I love that my baby can get a great seat in this carrier and can sit very ergonomically.  This carrier is recommended for babies 10lbs – 35lbs.  My son is 16 months old, 22lbs and tall for his age and he fits in it well.  I also really love the color and the pretty embroidery on the panel part of the carrier.  It’s pretty, while still being gender neutral and is perfect for a boy or a girl.

We love using this carrier when we’re out and about so that we don’t need to use a stroller.  We also use it at home when we need to get something done around the house such as dishes or vacuuming since our baby loves to chase the vacuum or take dishes out of the dishwasher when we’re trying to put them in.  It’s a great addition to our babywearing selection!
