I don’t know about you, but I love Barilla’s products.  I am a big fan of their whole grain pasta and their amazing sauces!  Pretty much everything of theirs is delicious, but those are my favorites!  When I was asked to try their new Pronto Pasta, I was thrilled!

To cook the Pronto Pasta, all you have to do is empty the pasta into a pan and pour 3 cups of cold water on top, just enough to barely cover the pasta.  Then, you turn the burner on high and let it do it’s magic for 10 minutes.  Be sure to stir every few minutes to ensure that all the noodles cook through.  After the 10 minutes are up, there won’t be any water left.  No draining required!  I find that awesome, because I really dislike having to wash the colander.  I can never get it cleaned easily, so this totally eliminates that!

I made Barilla’s Creamy One Pan Broccoli Cheddar Penne dish to test out their Pronto Pasta.  I decided to add Italian sausage slices just to add some meat to the meal.  Cooking the Pronto Pasta was super easy and it was al dente at that 10 minute cooking mark.

It’s a fairly simple recipe as you only have to add heavy cream, broccoli florets, cheddar cheese and some salt and pepper to season the dish.  It’s fast, easy and delicious!  Everyone in our family loved this dish and I enjoyed making it.  I can definitely say that I’ll be making it again, especially with the boys heading to school in a couple of weeks!
